“Justice for July UK” strongly condemns and expresses deep concern over the disgraceful terrorist attack carried out by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, the student wing of BNP, on elected Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) representatives AB Zubair and Mosaddek in the Shahbag police station area.

In a joint statement, the organization’s President Mohammad Amin Uddin and General Secretary Abu Talha stated that AB Jubayer and Musaddik are key leaders of the July movement and duly elected student representatives of Dhaka University. The attack on them is not merely an assault on individuals; it is a direct attack on the democratic rights and freedom of expression of the student community.

The statement further added that such violence, reportedly triggered by fake screenshots circulating on social media, along with the subsequent mob formation at Shahbag police station, raises serious concerns about the rule of law and the justice system in the country. Such actions are completely unacceptable, and those involved must be brought to justice without delay.

Additionally, the armed attacks by Chhatra Dal on opposing student groups on April 21 at Chittagong City College and again today in Pabna are deeply alarming. This ongoing pattern of violence is severely disrupting the academic environment and creating fear among general students, posing a serious threat to a safe and student-friendly atmosphere.

“Justice for July UK” believes that ensuring peaceful coexistence and a secure environment in educational institutions is the responsibility of the state and relevant authorities. The organization strongly demands immediate and proper investigations into these incidents, exemplary punishment for the perpetrators, and effective measures to end violence on campuses.

Strong Condemnation of Attacks on Opposition Leader’s Residence and Party Offices.

Justice For July UK has strongly condemned and protested the vandalism and terrorist attacks on the residence of opposition alliance leader Engineer Rashed Prodhan, as well as on party offices in different parts of the country.

In the capital’s Mohammadpur area, a group of BNP activists allegedly created a mob and carried out an attack in front of the residence of Engineer Rashed Prodhan  Vice President and spokesperson of the National Democratic Party (JAGPA) and a top leader of the 11 party alliance in the presence of police. In a separate incident in Panchagarh, leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal reportedly attacked and vandalized the district office of JAGPA.

In a joint statement the organization’s President Mohammad Amin Uddin and Secretary Abu Talha said that such open acts of violence in front of the residence of a senior opposition leader clearly show a serious deterioration in the country’s law and order situation. They also expressed deep concern that no effective action was taken despite the presence of police.

They further stated that attacking and vandalizing a political party office simply due to differences in opinion is not a sign of a healthy democratic society. Rather it goes against democratic values, tolerance, and freedom of expression.

The statement called on the authorities to immediately identify those involved in the attacks and bring them under the law. It also urged the administration to take effective steps to prevent such shameful incidents in the future.

The leaders added that in order to ensure the rule of law, democracy, and freedom of expression, all forms of political violence must be stopped. Otherwise, the country’s stability and democratic environment will be seriously harmed.

যুক্তরাজ্য ভিত্তিক মানবাধিকার সংগঠন  Justice for July UK জামায়াত কর্মী খোকন মোল্লা এর নৃশংস হত্যার তীব্র নিন্দা জানিয়েছে এক যৌথ বিবৃতিতে।

 সংগঠনঠির সভাপতি মোহাম্মদ আমিন উদ্দিন  এবং সেক্রেটারি  আবু তালহা  বলেন খোকন মোল্লা  বাংলাদেশের জামায়াতে ইসলামীর একজন নিবেদিতপ্রাণ রাজনৈতিক কর্মী ছিলেন।আমরা এই হত্যার তীব্র প্রতিবাদ জানাচ্ছি এবং শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবারের প্রতি গভীর সমবেদনা জানাচ্ছি।তারা আরো বলেন জুলাই বিপ্লবের পরেও বাংলাদেশে খুন হত্যা থেমে নেই। বিশেষ করে বিএনপি কর্মীদের দ্বারা এ হত্যাকান্ড ভবিষ্যৎ বাংলাদেশের সাধারণ মানুষদের নিরাপত্তার জন্য স্পষ্ট হুমকি।

খোকন মোল্লা এর হত্যা কেবল তাদের পরিবার এবং সম্প্রদায়ের জন্যই একটি ট্র্যাজেডি নয় বরং জীবন, মত প্রকাশের স্বাধীনতা এবং রাজনৈতিক অংশগ্রহণের মৌলিক অধিকারেরও স্পষ্ট লঙ্ঘন। রাজনৈতিক ব্যক্তিত্বদের বিরুদ্ধে এই ধরনের লক্ষ্যবস্তু সহিংসতা বিরোধীদের নীরব করার এবং নাগরিকদের আত্মসমর্পণে ভীত করার একটি উদ্বেগজনক প্রচেষ্টা।

আমরা কর্তৃপক্ষকে এই জঘন্য অপরাধের একটি নিরপেক্ষ এবং পুঙ্খানুপুঙ্খ তদন্ত পরিচালনা করার, অপরাধীদের আইনের আওতায় নিয়ে আসা এবং প্রতিশোধের ভয় ছাড়াই সমস্ত রাজনৈতিক কর্মী তাদের কাজে নিয়োজিত থাকতে পারে তা নিশ্চিত করার আহ্বান জানাচ্ছি।

 রাজনৈতিকভাবে উদ্দেশ্যপ্রণোদিত সহিংসতার জন্য দায়মুক্তি অগ্রহণযোগ্য এবং সকলের জন্য আইনের শাসন এবং মানবাধিকার সমুন্নত রাখার জন্য এটি নির্মূল করতে হবে।

আন্তর্জাতিক সম্প্রদায়কে বাংলাদেশের জনগণের সাথে সংহতি প্রকাশ করতে হবে, খোকন মোল্লা এবং রাজনৈতিক স্বাধীনতার অধিকার প্রয়োগের জন্য নিপীড়নের সম্মুখীন সকল ব্যক্তির জন্য ন্যায়বিচার দাবি করতে হবে।
